SPG Concessions (PTY) Ltd is the company where SPG interests in the Gautrain Rapid Rail System are located. These are represented in the shareholdings that SPG has in the different companies, including a 25% interest in the Bombela Concessions Company (BCC).

Bombela Concessions Company
The Bombela Concessions Company is the corporate entity that secured the contract with the Gauteng Province for the design, construction, commissioning, partial financing, operation and maintenance of the Gautrain Rapid Rail system.
operational highlight for both SPG and the Bombela Concessions Company occurred when BCC successfully commissioned what was known as Operational Date 2. This entailed providing by 6 June 2012 an extended Gautrain rail service from Park Station in Central Johannesburg via Sandton to O R Tambo International Airport as well as to Hatfield.
Bombela Operating Company
SPG Concessions owns 25.1% of the company that is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Gautrain. RATP Development SA, the French-based operator, possesses the technological expertise that is needed for the efficient operation and maintenance of rail passenger transport systems and it has the majority shareholding in BOC. Tolcon, a subsidiary of Murray and Roberts, is the other partner. The SPG shareholding will increase to 27.5% after five years of operation.
SPG executives play a significant role in determining the strategic direction to be followed by the company and they participate at various levels to ensure that the Gautrain functions in accordance with internationally accepted operating standards.
Bombela Turnkey Contractor (PTY) LTD
The company was responsible for the overall management of the design, integration, supply, installation, testing and commissioning and warranty related to the works in the Gautrain Project.
The project requirements for the Bombela Turnkey Contractor are virtually concluded as the construction phase comes to an end. Operations have been scaled down significantly with most employees having been demobilised by the end of June 2011.
SPG owns a 25% share in the company.
Bombela Electrical and Mechanical (PTY) LTD
The delivery of the Gautrain rolling stock, OCDS and power supply, track work, automatic fare collection system, signalling and the Gautrain communications system are this company's major responsibilities and obligations.
SPG owns 10% of Bombela E&M (PTY) LTD with Canadian-based Bombardier being the majority shareholder. Ninety percent of the company's equity is held by Bombardier.
Bombela Civils Joint Venture (PTY) LTD
SPG Concessions is a 10% shareholder. The other shareholders in BCJV are Bouygues Travaux Publics SA, which is a French-based company, and Murray and Roberts Limited, the South African construction group. Each of these organisations owns 45% of the company.
BCJV was responsible for the design and construction of a modern state-of-the-art rail network which included tunnel construction, ten stations and parking facilities. The construction projects across the Gautrain Rail Reserve came to an end with most of the sites being handed over during March 2011.
Bombela Maintenance Company (PTY) LTD
Ten percent of the company is owned by SPG with the other 90% held by Bombardier. BMC has responsibility for the ongoing maintenance of Gautrain rolling stock. It is also involved in OCDS and power supply, track work, automatic fare collection as well as Gautrain's signalling and communications system.
Mega Express (PTY) LTD
Mega Express is responsible for the daily operation of the Gautrain buses. The company's majority shareholder is Unitrans (Pty) Ltd. SPG effectively own 22.5% of Mega Express.
The dedicated Mega Express feeder and distribution system links residential areas, within a radius of 10km, and commercial nodes, within a radius 5km, with certain Gautrain stations. The services are rendered in accordance with coordinated timetables and routes.
